My name is Bencilla Powell. I founded Youth Enrichment Service(YES) in 1987.  I grew up in Newark New Jersey. While in Arts High School, it was programs like YES that enabled me to obtain my Bachelors and Masters Degree from Cornell University in Engineering. I went on to have a very successful career at AT&T Bell Laboratories. YES offers STEAM Afterschool Enrichment Programs in Newark, East Orange, and Irvington, New Jersey, serving children 6 years old to 13 years old. Our program is supported by Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, AT&T Pioneers, and the Department of Defense. My passion, now that I am retired, is to develop programs that enrich the lives of our youth and give them opportunities that I was fortunate to have.  Your support in this endeavor will change the lives of our youth forever.
